🛶PROGRAM SUMMARY:

  • Witness one of nature’s rarest spectacles on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Northern Spain’s Path of Totality. This 7-day themed group experience is designed around the Total Solar Eclipse of 12 August 2026 — a sunset eclipse visible across Galicia and Asturias, framed by Atlantic horizons, mountain peaks, and some of Europe’s finest dark-sky territories.

  • The journey begins in Santiago de Compostela, the historic heart of Galicia and your comfortable base for the first part of the program. After arrival and a relaxed welcome evening, guests explore Santiago’s old town from above with a private cathedral rooftop visit before being introduced to the science of eclipses through an accessible astronomy session. A first sunset stargazing experience at Monte do Gozo sets the tone for the week ahead.

  • A day trip to the Costa da Morte reveals Galicia’s dramatic Atlantic edge. At Cape Finisterre — once believed to be the end of the known world — guests hike coastal trails, learn maritime navigation history, and enjoy a fresh seafood degustation. As evening falls, a coastal constellation workshop teaches practical sky navigation and prepares participants for the western-horizon eclipse viewing still to come.

  • The route then enters Asturias, where ocean and astronomy intertwine. A marine astronomy workshop connects tides, moon cycles, and coastal sky conditions, followed by a technical eclipse briefing covering eye safety, observation roles, and photography preparation. A traditional Asturian cider ritual brings local culture to life before an evening guided stargazing session in a Starlight-certified dark-sky area — among Spain’s finest regions for astronomy tourism.

  • The pinnacle arrives in the Picos de Europa. Ascending into the mountains by cable car, guests reach carefully scouted high-altitude viewpoints chosen for their clear horizons and reduced cloud risk. A hands-on solar photography workshop precedes the main event: the Total Solar Eclipse at sunset. Under expert supervision, guests witness daylight fade, the solar corona blaze into view, and the iconic Diamond Ring effect as the sun meets the Atlantic horizon. Warm drinks and a guided debrief follow, before a late-night Perseid Meteor Shower gathering completes this extraordinary celestial day.

  • The final experience day travels to A Coruña, where science meets ancient seafaring heritage. At the Domus Science Museum, interactive exhibits explore humanity’s relationship with nature and the cosmos. The journey continues to the Tower of Hercules — the world’s oldest functioning Roman lighthouse — where navigation, astronomy, and Atlantic exploration intertwine. The program concludes with a farewell gourmet dinner and celestial cocktail hour, celebrating shared eclipse memories and night-sky encounters.

  • Transfers are kept short, hotel changes are minimized, and professional astronomy guides ensure safe and meaningful observation throughout. The result is a smooth, group-friendly program blending culture, gastronomy, adventure, and science — all centered on one of the rarest celestial events of our lifetime.
